EnviroShred is a social enterprise owned by Easter Seals Capital Region & Eastern CT. EnviroShred customers are great corporate citizens who understand that in addition to vital security, every ton of paper they entrust to EnviroShred for destruction generates 36 hours of meaningful work for an individual with significant disabilities who otherwise would never have a chance to pursue the dream of independence and self-sufficiency. EnviroShred has received national awards for supporting individuals with disabilities in delivering the highest levels of productivity and quality.
Our destruction methods support a more environmentally efficient form of paper recycling; resulting in a 67% savings in energy consumption compared to recycling supported by other document destruction companies. Each ton of paper recycled at EnviroShred saves 17 trees, 100 gallons of gas, 60 pounds of air pollutants, 7,000 gallons of water and 4,200 kilowatt-hours of electricity.
Periodically throughout the year we sponsor public “shred” days where the public can bring in their paper based documents, CD, and DVDs and we will shred it for them free of charge.
